"Akiko"

I love Japan and everything about it!  I had not created geishas in several years, so it really challenged my creativity.  Her hair is covered with black diamond dust that sparkles beautifully in the light.  The cherry blossoms are made from pages of the book "Memoirs of a Geisha" (Japanese version) and they rest at several levels in her hair, giving the piece a 3D effect.  Decorative papers and acrylic paint were used on her and I think the mixture of bright colorful patterns really reflect the beauty of the Japanese geishas.
